9-1-1 Wiki

Yusuf Adiyah is a physical therapist and Marjan Marwani's eventual husband, whom she met after she was shot in the stomach.

Background[]

Hailing from a family of five, he was the oldest of his siblings. Joe is very close to his parents admiring their strong marriage and desiring to have the same in the future. When he was 17, both his parents were killed in a car accident. Joe then proceeded to step up as the oldest and raised his siblings. Even as adults, he and his siblings remained close.

Meeting Marjan[]

After she was shot, Marjan met Yusuf and a mutual attraction was formed. While at a mass, Marjan discovered that Joe was a Muslim too and they bonded more. Eventually, the pair started dating.

Meeting the Parents[]

Yusuf meets Marjan's parents for the first time. Marjan tells Yusuf he should use his full name when they meet, as it's more traditional. He eventually asks for their blessing for their marriage, but after some tough questions about logistics, they disapprove.

This causes a slight rift between the couple, as Marjan's approval from her parents are important to her, whereas Yusuf felt her need for approval meant more than their relationship. Later Marjan meets up with her parents again and stands up to them that she is sure she wants to marry Joe. This eventually grants their blessing, as they weren't sure if marriage is what Marjan wanted.

She tells her parents they are having their wedding very soon, before they leave Texas to be exact. They are surprised, but Marjan says she and Yusuf are tired of waiting.

Wedding[]

The wedding goes well, despite everything being such short notice. They have the wedding at the 126. The wedding is full of traditional Lebanese dances and Islam traditions.

At the end of the night, Marjan takes off her hijab for Yusuf before they make love.

Relationships[]

Marjan Marwani[]

Marjan and Yusuf meet as he is her physical therapist after she got shot in the stomach by Grant. She has a crush on him and it is reciprocated. After a long day of Marjan going on chaperoned dates organized by the 126, she ran into Yusuf at the market with Paul where she learns that Joe's actual name is Yusuf and that he is Muslim. She asks him out to come to dinner with her, Paul and Asha as a non-official double date which he agrees to. He was her plus one to TK and Carlos' wedding.[1][2]

Trivia[]

  • John Clarence Stewart, Joe's portrayer, is dating Natacha Karam, Marjan's actress, in real life.
