Treasure Hunt is the twelfth episode of the fourth season of 9-1-1 and the fifty eighth episode overall. It aired on May 10, 2021.

Synopsis

When a famous mystery writer dies, Athena, Bobby and the 118 respond to the chaos caused by a city-wide manhunt for buried treasure the author left behind. [1]

  • The episode's title was first revealed on Oliver Stark's Instagram story on March 26, 2021.[2]

Cultural References

  • The city wide treasure hunt is a reference to the Forrest Fenn treasure, a cache of gold and jewels that author and art dealer Forrest Fenn hid in the Rocky Mountains of the United States in 2010. It was found a decade later in 2020.

Continuity

  • Bobby mentions Athena's incident from "Powerless", in which she reveals that her captain had offered her the chance for retirement, but she refused.
