"Saving Grace" is the ninth episode and the spring premiere of the second season of 9-1-1: Lone Star and the nineteenth episode overall. It aired on April 19, 2021.


Synopsis[]

Grace and Judd fight for their lives in the aftermath of the horrific car accident, as flashbacks show how a childhood tragedy led Judd to meet Grace and how they ultimately fell in love. [2]

Trivia[]

  • This episode, and its original series, both premiered with new episodes on the same night and shared similar storylines:
    • A drunk driver causing nearly fatal incidents for the main characters; In 9-1-1 it was Albert Han, on Lone Star it was Judd and Grace.
  • No 9-1-1 emergency calls were made in the present day.
  • TK was seen with the crew waiting outside for Judd and Grace, although he was in the hospital in the previous episode for injuries sustained during a call. Although it was not mentioned if time had passed since Judd and Grace were hospitalized, Tim Minear later confirmed the latter. [3]
  • Judd was involved in a car crash during 1995, as shown in the beginning flashback which killed his friend Cal.
  • 2012 was when most of the flashbacks are set in this episode, including the meeting of Grace and Judd.
  • Grace used to volunteer for a prayer hotline.
  • Tommy used to work at the 121 as shown by the number of the ambulance.
