Sang Han is a minor character on 9-1-1. He is the father of Howard Han and Albert Han.
History[]
Early Life[]
He was married to Jee-Yun and they had a son Howard Han. Despite loving them, he didn't have a close relationship with either, even when they lived in the same house. Sang was always distant to both Howard, even when Howard tried so many times to build a relationship with his father until he finally gave up after he realized his father was not only interested in being a parent. The Han family came to California when Howard was 5 for his father's work, which was supposed to last for 2 years but actually lasted for 6. Privately, Sang was struggling with work and attempted to relocate them back but both Jee Yun and Howard had come to love their new lives and didn't want to go back to Korea, which didn't go down well with Howard's father. Getting nowhere with them, he left for Korea without them assuming that they would eventually join him there which never happened, as Jee-Yun ended up getting cancer.
Jee-Yuns Death[]
After her diagnosis, she unfortunately died before Howard's 15th birthday. After Jee Yun died, Sang didn't reach out to his son who lived with the family of her best friend when they took him in.
Marrying Myung and Albert's Birth[]
Sang thrived in his career back in Korea and remarried another woman named Myung. The pair went on to have a son named Albert Han and their relationship was much better than his one with his first family, as both Myung and Albert understood that Sang felt guilt about his past. At one point, he found a young Albert on skype call from his older brother, before his father cuts him off and sees Howard. Sang inquired if he wants money but he reveals he only wanted to inform the family of his job as a firefighter, something Sang congratulated but ends the call.[2]

He and his wife welcomed Albert back once he resigned from the LAFD. Sang inquired on Howard's life and was told that he was now a grandfather after the birth of Jee-Yun Buckley Han. With this, Sang wanted to visit and connect with his new family addition, something Albert supported to mend the gap. When they arrived, Howard asked if Sang was still unbearable before Albert pointed out the approaching Sang who upon seeing his oldest son asks how he is doing. Chimney is taken aback to see his estranged father after so long. [1]
