Nia Gonzalez is the former foster daughter of Hen and Karen Wilson.
Scene Synopses[]
Season 3 Episode 11: Hen and Karen meet Nia, their new foster daughter.
Season 3 Episode 13: Nią briefly seen taking a nap as Hen and Michael have a conversation.
Season 4 Episode 2: Nia is seen giving Hen a stuffed unicorn, saying "you can borrow, for luck" as Hen prepares for online orientation for med school.
Season 4 Episode 3: Nia chases Denny around the dining room table with a marker, having drawn on his face in his sleep. Hen scolds Nia, who says she "make Denny pretty". Hen trades Nia her unicorn stuffed animal for the marker.
The social worker then stops by for an unexpected visit, and when another guest knocks on the door Nia shows the social worker her room.
Nia scolds Hen for yelling at Sydney, saying "Bad Mama Hen!" then quickly forgives her and holds Hen's hand as they walk into the kitchen.
Season 4 Episode 7: Nia meets her "Grammy", Antonia, but needs an explanation from Denny on what exactly a "Grammy" is.
Karen tells Hen she saw Antonia sleeping in her car, with Nia adding they had seen her "by the park".
Grammy comes to live with Hen, Karen, and family, much to Nia's excitement. "Yay!"
Season 4 Episode 8: Nia depletes the first aid kit in order to bandage up her stuffed animals as Hen and Karen talk adoption.
The social worker visits Hen and Karen to start reunification talks for Nia and her birth mother.
Season 4 Episode 9: Hen and Karen take Nia to the foster care office for a supervised visit with her birth mother.
Nia timidly goes for an overnight visit with her birth mother, leaving Hen and Karen crying on their porch as she looks back longingly.
Season 4 Episode 10: Nia says goodbye to Hen, Karen, and Denny as she must return to her birthmother. "See you later..." ... "I love you, too".
Season 4 Episode 14: Thanks to a chance encounter, Nia and mom Evangeline join her former foster family for a picnic in the park.
Season 5 Episode 18: A surprise vow renewal ceremony includes Nia as flower girl.

- Margot Terry does not play Nia when the character is introduced in Season 3, episodes Seize the Day and Pinned. The young actress playing the role is not credited.
- "Nia" was the first acting role for Margot Terry, who stepped on a set for the first time ever to film her scene in Alone Together when she was just 3-years old.
- The unexpected reunion scene in Survivors was filmed on Margot's 4th birthday. The cast and crew provided a cake and a song!
- Her Birth Mother is a Nurses Aide.
