Nathaniel Greene is the biological father of Hen and Karen Wilson's son Denny.

History[]

Fatherhood[]

According to police records, Nathaniel developed a drinking habit that led to a long list of minor felonies after his wife died seven years ago. He met Denny's biological mother, Eva Mathis, in rehab and had no knowledge of Denny's birth. Following his stint in rehab, Nathaniel dedicated himself to improving his community, and mentored at-risk youth, hence becoming clean as a legitimate citizen.

When she was released from jail, Eva tried to manipulate Nathaniel into suing for custody of Denny, under the grounds that he never officially signed away his rights to Denny. A DNA test confirmed his paternity. After Hen puts Eva in jail following her relapse, Nathaniel meets Hen and Karen again. Observing Denny's current life, he voices that he doesn't want to disrupt this and acknowledges them as the latter's true parents. He tells them he is eager to support Hen and Karen's decision on keeping Denny, in exchange for being apart of his son's life. This brought a smile of relief to them.[1]

Denny found out about Nathaniel through a file his mothers kept, tracking down his father to connect with him. Nathaniel answered the door to find Denny who wanted to talk.[2]

It is shown that he and Denny have formed a father and son bond. Nathaniel is shown enjoying his time with his son but does feel guilty that neither Hen nor Karen are aware of this but Denny says they will learn soon.[3]

Hen and Karen later discover this situation, reluctantly permitting it after seeing how happy Denny is about having more family. Despite Hen having mixed feelings about things, she comes to accept after realizing it might have good come out of it.
