Mara Wilson is the foster daughter of Hen and Karen Wilson, and the former foster daughter of Howard and Maddie Han.

Early Life[]
Mara's parents overdosed when she was a child. The authorities found her parents dead after a 9-1-1 call from Mara reporting that her parents wouldn't wake up.
Being fostered by the Wilson family[]
In "You Don’t Know Me" Hen and Karen foster Mara and at first she misbehaves, even throwing a coffee mug at Denny,
Hen and Karen later learn from Denny and their social worker Diedra that Mara has a half-brother named Tyson. Tyson's father Vincent, who had an affair with Mara's mother, is reluctant to let Tyson visit Mara. However, Tyson's step-mother Juanita later has a change of heart and brings him over to the Wilson house, where Mara and Tyson are reunited for the first time in several years.[1]
Being Transfered to the Han family[]
Due to an emergency incident with Hen and Councilwoman Olivia Ortiz's son Kyle (that ended in his death)[2], she had a vendetta against Hen, and revoked the Wilsons' foster license, which caused Mara to be placed in a temporary home.[3]
To ensure she would not regress back to her former self, Maddie and Chimney stepped in as temporary foster parents for Mara, while the Wilsons tried to get back their license.[4]
A court hearing was eventually held, where a judge ruled that Hen and Karen could not have any contact with Mara. However, Bobby Nash convinced Vincent Gerrard, the captain that had replaced him at Station 118 under orders from Ortiz, that Ortiz did not have Gerrard's best interests in mind. Gerrard then caught Ortiz admitting to blackmail and bribery on his body camera, which was then exposed at a city council meeting. This allowed Hen and Karen to take back custody of Mara.[5]
