9-1-1 Wiki

Josephina "Pepa" is the aunt of Eddie Diaz, the great-aunt of Christopher Diaz, and the sister of Ramon Diaz

History[]

Early Life[]

Pepa was married to her first husband two years, it is unknown if they divorced or he passed away but it is implied that they divorced. It took her six years to move on and marry her second husband, Paco, who she had 4 children with.

Confronting Eddie[]

Pepa calls Eddie to the hospital due to her mother, Isabel, breaking her hip. Christopher called 9-1-1. Pepa advises Eddie to stop leaving his son with Isabel since she's not up to the task. She says Shannon was a gringa ex for leaving Eddie with this situation, and takes Chris for the night. She urges her nephew to figure out a long-term solution to properly care for Chris.[1]

Pepa then calls Eddie a saint, as raising a child alone is hard.

Shannon's Funeral[]

Ramon insults Shannon for walking out on Eddie and Chris after her funeral, before being reprimanded by Isabel. They try to get Eddie to come back to Texas due to being a single father and his busy schedule as a firefighter. Eddie states it's not that simple as he's almost done with his probationary year. He figures out they didn't come for the funeral and their true intention was to get them to move back to El Paso. Helena argues they will be with family back in Texas, which offends Pepa and Isabel who are both L.A. based. Eddie refuses to uproot Chris, but Ramon says he spent the first six years in El Paso with them.[2]

Ramon's Retirement Party[]

Pepa rides with Eddie to Texas for her brother's retirement party. They see Isabel is already outside of the house waiting for them, indicating something is wrong. Helena is cooking, and it worries everyone. Pepa had thought her "fancy" brother hired caterers, but they are only allowed to serve the food. But Isabel was allowed to make the tamales, which makes them relieved.[3]

Eddie's Blind Date[]

Pepa secretly sets Eddie up for a blind date with a stranger under the guise a water pipe had leaked. Eddie is shocked, but Pepa insisted it had to be done. She says he should be spending his weekend with someone he loves instead of sitting around at home. Her kids are having kids and Pepa's attention is now on Eddie. It breaks her heart to see him alone.[4]

Trivia[]

  • Eddie mentioned she had a stroke.[5]
