- A promotional image for the episode was accidentally released during the press release for the previous episode, "The Taking of Dispatch 9-1-1".
- Ryan Guzman (Edmundo Diaz) had his cousin, Randy Hudson, a combat veteran who did five military tours, hired as a technical advisor for the flashback scenes of Eddie's time in Afghanistan. He also wrote a bit of the script.[3]
- The well that Eddie is lifted down under, according to Ryan Guzman was 10 to 12 feet deep, and it was rainy and windy while the episode was filmed.[3]
- The well incident is based on the real-life rescue of Jessica McClure (also known as Baby Jessica in 1987) when she fell into a well in her aunt's backyard in Texas. It took about 56 hours for first responders to be able to rescue her, and it gained worldwide attention.
