Buck Begins is the fifth episode of the fourth season of 9-1-1 and the fifty first episode overall. It aired on February 15, 2021.

Synopsis[]

The 118 race to save the lives of workers trapped in a five-alarm factory fire. Meanwhile, Maddie reveals a painful family secret that causes Buck to confront his childhood and answer why he is the daredevil he is today and why he and Maddie had an estranged relationship with his parents.. [2]

  • In this episode, Maddie and Buck are portrayed by Jennifer Love Hewitt and Oliver Stark from 2012-2021, by Molly Jackson and Elton McCrudden in 2004, and by Maddie Levy and Beckett Maillard in 1996.

Continuity[]

  • Several episodes were seen in flashbacks.
  • Buck's first day arriving to the 118, first seen in "Bobby Begins Again" is shown again, but extended. This scene is also revealed to have taken place in 2017.
