Eva Mathis is a guest character on 9-1-1. She is Hen's ex-girlfriend and the biological mother of Denny Wilson

History[]

Family[]

Eva had an extensive history of addiction long before encountering Hen. She became pregnant with Denny, and Nathaniel Green, his biological father, was unaware until much later. Once Denny was born, Eva signed all parental rights away and Hen and Karen Wilson adopted her infant son.

Incarceration[]

Once she was out of jail, Eva seduced Hen and put her relationship with Karen at risk by threatening to sue for custody of Denny, even going far as getting Nathaniel Greene on her side. However, Hen catches her overdosing and dials her parole officer, returning her to confinement. With Nathaniel later aligned to Hen and Karen, Eva's plot fails.

Getting Sober and Leaving LA[]

Eva meets up with Hen one last time to let her know she is leaving California. At this point, she is one month away from being two years sober. While Hen is glad she's doing better, she still hasn't forgiven her and needs time. Before leaving, Eva tells Hen should Denny ever ask about her, to tell the truth.

Karen goes to confront Eva in her apartment. She explains that Hen was the first person who saw her and that there was a time getting sober would've made her proud. Eva admits she she still wanted to make her proud, just a little. She assured Karen she doesn't need to worry about her, but Karen says she's worried about her since the third date because of what she did. Karen felt that everytime Eva called that she was about to lose her family, because they were both Eva's first. However, Eva says that she won't lose them because Hen loves Karen more than her.
