Emmett Washington (November 26, 1962 - February 17, 1991)[1] was the former fiancé of Athena Grant-Nash.

History[]

He was a police officer with the LAPD and his partner was Rick Romero. Athena and Emmett met in 1989 at a career fair at Athena's law school, when Emmett flirted with law student Athena and encouraged her to join the LAPD. Athena later contacted Emmett, and after an impassioned speech, dropped out of law school to join the LAPD. Athena and Emmett eventually got engaged. However, Emmett's life was tragically cut short when he was gunned down in a gas station after he attempted to stop the shooter from robbing the store. After almost 30 years after his death, the murder weapon from Emmett's case resurfaced and Athena eventually caught his killer and brought him to justice.
