Darius is a character on FOX's 9-1-1 who is the boyfriend of May Grant. He debuts in the seventh episode of the third season of 9-1-1 and is portrayed by guest cast member Dante Brown.
History[]
Dinner with May's Family[]
In "Athena Begins", Darius had dinner with May and her family at Athena and Bobby's house. At dinner, he talked about his intentions of taking a gap year and then going to Stanford. The dinner was interrupted when Elaine showed up at the house, saying that the gun that killed Emmett had been found. Darius and May then headed to the movies.
Prom[]
Darius was May's prom date. Since Athena was at the hospital after she was attacked, they took prom pictures with her family at the hospital.[2] He was also present at the graduation party thrown for May at Athena and Bobby's house.[3]
Moving Back to Los Angeles[]
In "What's Your Fantasy?", Darius returned to Los Angeles from Stanford and May brought him home for dinner with Athena and Bobby. Both Athena and Bobby were happy to see him again and May talked about how Darius is considering transferring to USC next semester. However, Darius explained that his parents were upset with him as they think L.A. has "too many distractions" and want him to stay at Stanford.
Since his parents were mad at him, he was crashing at a friend's house. A few days later, May came to pick him up at his friend's house, but Darius was stuck in traffic, so she let herself into the house. She then discovered that one of his roommates, Erik, was a dangerous young man and took his notebook in which he had written a manifesto detailing plans to carry out a mass casualty event. May tried to warn Darius to stay away from Erik, but Darius arrived at the house and saw a very upset Erik. The situation then escalated and Erik took Darius hostage as May took his notebook. Athena and the police later arrived, and they let May call Erik and had her convince him that the house was surrounded by SWAT. When he looked out the window to check, Darius used that opportunity to run and Erik was arrested later. After they were reunited, May told Darius that she wouldn't blame him if he had second thoughts about moving back to Los Angeles, and Darius assured her that there's no place he'd rather be.
Trivia[]
- Both of his parents are doctors.[4]
