Christopher Diaz is a main character on 9-1-1 who is the son of Eddie and Shannon.
He was a recurring character in Season two, but became a main character in season three. He debuts in the second episode of the second season of 9-1-1 and is portrayed by Gavin McHugh.
History[]
Early Life[]
Christopher was born in 2011 to Eddie and Shannon Diaz and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. His father had been deployed to Afghanistan but managed to make it home in time for his birth. After his mother left him, he was mostly raised by his paternal grandparents in El Paso while Eddie took on various jobs to earn a living.
Moving to LA[]
When Eddie gets a job at the Los Angeles Fire Department, Christopher moves with him to Los Angeles to start a new life. Due to his father's long hours, he is also looked after by his paternal great-grandmother Isabel and great-aunt Josephina. Eddie later hires a home nurse Carla to help out.
In the episode "Stuck", Isabel broke her hip and Eddie is forced to bring Christopher to the firehouse. The 118, especially Buck, quickly become fond of him.
Moving back to Texas[]
In "Ashes, Ashes" Marisol walks in with Chris. For a moment, Chris thinks Kim is his mom and Marisol is devastated that her boyfriend is seeing another woman, let alone one that looks like Shannon.
This caused a strain on Eddie and Chris' relationship, with the latter refusing to speak to him. Eddie insinuated Marisol broke up with him as well. Chris had called his grandparents late at night to take him to live in Texas for awhile. Eddie is upset with his decision, but he knows he can't and won't stop him.
In "Sob Stories", Eddie moves back to Texas.
Personality[]
He is extremely sweet-natured and shows remarkable empathy with other troubled people.
