Buzzkill is the first episode of the eighth season of 9-1-1, and the one hundred-and-seventh episode overall. It aired on September 26, 2024.

Synopsis[]

The 118 team battles an "un-bee-lievable" emergency when a trailer with millions of bees crashes on the streets of Los Angeles, unleashing a swarm.[2]

  • Bobby is seen working as a technical advisor now on Hotshots, an in universe reference to the series itself as a firefighter show.
    • Brad's character playing an American firefighter on the show but his actor being actually British is a reference to Oliver Stark's portrayal of Buck being an American despite him being British himself.

Goofs[]

  • A suction cup prop holding the saw blade is still seen after it lands into the fire truck shortly after Gerrard is struck with it.
  • Despite the truck running out of extinguishers of CO2 shortly after trying to rescue the mother and daughter in the car, when the truck tire catches on fire, the firefighters are able to put out the flames with more CO2.

  • The orchestral interlude Flight of the Bumblebee is heard when Eddie is guiding the bees away from the pool.
  • Chimney and Mara mention Scourgify and Evanesco, known as the cleaning spell and vanishing spell from the Harry Potter series.
