Bathena is the romantic relationship between Bobby Nash and Athena Grant-Nash from 9-1-1.
History[]
First Meeting[]
Bobby reports a different anomaly - The burn patterns and untouched electrical switches prelude circuit issues, instead starting where Victor was found, drawing Athena's attention as running into the fire is clearly an unusual act. Bobby then picks up what remains of a 9-volt battery connected to some cables, which they both assume an improvised incendiary device. The two speculate it as an arson - Victor set the fire, but Freddie returned to retrieve a PC and prompts Victor to ineffectually eliminate the fire. If it weren't for their subsequent efforts, the fraud would have slipped unnoticed
Growing Closer[]
After their deaths and an investigation that determined it was an accident, Bobby went to rehab and relocated to the LAPD, where he first met field sergeant Athena. Bobby and Athena started dating at the end of Season 1 and eventually married in Season 2.
Getting Engaged[]
But then again, this is all new to Bobby and considering the places he's been, it does make sense for him to digest the information and not make a spur of the moment decision. Bobby's proposal was heartfelt and beautifully stated and Athena shutting him up because he had her at hello was totally in line with who she is.
Getting Married[]
Bobby later returns home and proposes to marry Athena immediately at a courthouse, with them, Harry and May. After Bobby amuses Athena, he proposes getting Harry and May from school, while Athena reveals she already has a wedding dress. They meet at the location shortly after, where Bobby grafts the ring to Athena. Harry and May embrace them as they kiss.
Conflict[]
In Suspicion, Athena discovered that Bobby was acting as a sponsor to Rachel Hawkerson, a drunk driver. She confronted him on this secret, as he revealed he had to keep confidentiality but got angry when Athena kept pushing to be more open by bringing up how she didn't tell him of her offer of retirement. Bobby even remarked they're supposed to be partners but he is treated like an afterthought, ending the rant by saying the marriage isn't working.
Relationship Strengthening[]
Bobby wanted to help Athena clear her father's name after he was accused of murder. Athena was hesitant but the two worked together. Bobby and Athena deduced the Franklins were involved, with Bobby saving Joanne from being killed. When Athena and Det. Dixon arrive, Athena uttered her husband's name in worry before finding him. However, he was fine and ushered her into going after the fleeing Junior. Once Athena detained Junior and handed him over to the detective, Bobby asked if she was okay and she replied that she's okay now after finally solving a forty year case.
