- The episode's title is a reference to the famous quotation, "Houston, we have a problem" which originated from the radio communications during the Apollo 13 spaceflight.
- Owen line's where he tells Carlos about TK that "That's my son" is a callback to the first episode, where TK tells Carlos "That's my dad" when talking about Owen.
- This marks the last appearance of Michelle Blake.
