Synopsis

The 118 and Tommy are presented with the Medal of Valor for their work on the cruise ship rescue. Meanwhile, Hen and Karen encounter an unforeseen hurdle in their foster care journey, while Eddie’s emotional affair develops further.

Trivia

• The episode's title was originally "Unfinished Business", but was renamed shortly after.
  • Kim name-drops this scrapped title within the episode, claiming that Shannon and Eddie had "unfinished business".
• No notable 9-1-1 calls were made in this episode, aside from only an emergency of the 118 fighting a structural fire being seen.
• According to promotional images, a few scenes were cut in this episode including a scene where Tommy speaks to Hen and Karen, Eddie and Chris having a talk, Eddie and Kim sharing a kiss, and another scene of Karen and Hen speaking to Maddie and Chimney shortly after discovering that their adoption hearing was canceled.
• Athena mentions Michael is now married to David, and are both living in Florida.
• Tommy's full name is revealed to be Thomas Kinard.
