Dr. Ana Flores is a character on FOX’s 9-1-1 who was Christopher’s teacher and the ex-girlfriend of Eddie Diaz.
History[]
She debuts in "Fools", where she met Christopher's father Eddie and his nurse Carla Price at a conference. Ana is depicted as a kindhearted teacher and has a good talk with Eddie on his son. The talk ends on a good note, with Carla later remarking on how Eddie seemed to be into her. Unfortunately, Christopher gets hurt riding a skateboard and Eddie was called to check. He confronts Ana who was remorseful for letting this happen, but Eddie yelled at her because of the harm on his son. She watched as he leaves with his son while Carla told her that he was just upset. At the end, Eddie met Ana again and apologized for being out of line, with her accepting. In their talk, they share some more flirtation with each other.
During "Jinx", Ana quit teaching to finish her doctorate and became a Vice principal. While walking down the street, she bumped into another man and spilled her hot coffee on herself. She is helped by a firefighter who puts an ice pack on her blister. During said call, Eddie spots her, and they caught up before Eddie properly treats her, with her explaining the firefighter. While helping, a mutual spark is felt between them before they part ways. After encouragement from his friends, Eddie decides to act on his attraction and asks Ana out, with her accepting. Ana shows up after having her burn properly tended to and the date goes smoothly.
In "Breaking Point", she is shown to officially be dating Eddie. They are at her apartment, where they share some jokes while going over Christopher's school work. The two nearly kiss but are interrupted when Eddie gets an alert for Christopher. Ana lets Eddie know that she doesn't intend to pressure him on being reluctant to tell Christopher of their status, out of respect for his late wife. In response, he called her an amazing woman and promised to get his son to agree with him dating. Later on, Eddie tells Ana that he told Christopher about him dating and he didn't like it. Ana felt guilt for coming between them and told him that she'd understand if they needed to take a break for a while. However, Eddie assured he liked her and will talk to his son, telling her not to go anywhere. She smiled and agreed, before they ended the call. Eventually, Christopher comes around to the idea of Eddie and Ana dating and seems to like her.
During "Parenthood", Ana was seen cuddling with Eddie while watching TV, before Christopher came and said he could not sleep. Ana said he could join them and they all had a good time.
In "Suspicion", it is noted on how they were progressing as she joined Eddie and Christopher in welcoming Christopher's caretaker Carla Price back with a party. Carla seems to be supportive about their relationship but has skepticism and advises Eddie to "follow his heart". Eddie appeared to have some concern on it.
In "Survivors", after Eddie was shot, Ana was notified by this and visited Eddie. She worried about her boyfriend and stayed by his bedside while he recovered. She was elated when he awoke and notified his friends, while he thanked her for being there.
During "Panic", Eddie and Christopher are tux shopping with Ana for her godsons christening. While assisting them, the store clerk mistakenly refers to Ana as Eddie's wife. Ana also shared a joke with Eddie who accepts it with a smile. Much later, Eddie experiences what he believes is a heart attack, and is transported to the hospital. The cardiologist informs Eddie that he just had a panic attack, and asks if he has recently experienced anything traumatic, and Christopher confirms that he was shot in the line of duty. The doctor believes this could be what's causing the panic attacks, but Eddie later admits that he is scared of a future with Ana, and they talk before Ana realizes where its going. She breaks into tears before telling Eddie that he is a great father and a good man who she is happy to know. She kisses him on the cheek and leaves, signifying they have broken up.
